Hello Everyone,


I've just read new changes for the bowl.
I kinda think that the new changes aren't the greatest, however you are right. Gotta do what you gotta do.
But I have one request.. can't we make the bowl look less busy by discarding messages sooner than usual? like check everyday or your message could be long gone? just a thought. Then again I was never good with computers *shrugs*

Pandoracat asked why the posts are taking "hours": if the Bowl is really strained, the update will not occur. The software waits for a slow period to update the database to make the posts appear.

Just wondering why there is a delay!!!

I really don't mind the delay, gotta do what ya
gotta do, right.

But, the one thing that makes me is that
the messages don't turn green most of the time.
I've missed a whole shwack of stuff today.

The green shouldn't change. Messages have always been green for me in The Melting Pot.

Note that the green disappears after you leave for 15 minutes. So if stuff is green, you leave, come back after 16 minutes, the green will be gone. (this has always been the way the whole Bowl works -- it's not just Free).

Guess it's me then, because the same thing happens
to me in the Melting Pot as well. I'm in and out all day,
so it's probably the time thing. I'll just have to keep
scrolling back to make sure I don't miss anything!

Is it my imagination or are posts REALLY down since the change? I too understand what needs to be done needs to be done but I get the feeling it is deterring people from posting (?)

I seem to be having the same problem. I refresh the screen and the new messages appear like I've already read them - no green for me.

This is just a suggestion and I don't know if it would work, but couldn't the contests and freebies be seperated into two different forums if they are so busy and putting a strain in one area.Like just keep Freebies here and put Contests in its own forum. Just trying to help

I enjoy the free forum and view the posts several times a day. The main reason I look daily is for "Max" with My Points. At certain times during the day he would give "bonus" points, although I was one of many who weren't so lucky...Anyway, with the delay, it could be a long time before it is posted as to his wherabouts and if he was giving bonus points. My point is, could the my points posts be moved to perhaps the "Help" forum? This is only a suggestion. I really enjoy the forums and all the hard work the moderaters do. Keep up the great work, and thank you JuJu for an excellent place for us Canadians to "meet".

Ditto, Great Idea

Ok, just tested this. After not visiting for a few hours, I came back and 8 threads show up green in FREE. So it's working.

Session reset after 15 minutes so if you refresh every 10 for example, it may get confused. I don't really know because I can't reproduce the problem on my end.

I have a question (may be a stupid one)

Why do I only get email notification from some people in the freebie section and not from others? I got a few today, but when I went back later there was other stuff I hadn't gotten email about

I have a question also,
My little green arrow now takes me to the FIRST post instead of the NEWEST unread post in the list. So I have to go through page after page till I find the green unread ones myself. Not complaining just wondering why.
