I should know this but don't.

I want to start to rent discs on-line so I'll know if it's worth paying $40 for an obscure movie I can't rent at jumbo to find out.

I've heard of netflix but don't know if they deal with Canada or if there is a Canadian retailer that is trustworthy?

but I stopped mentioning them after they put their business up for sale on eBay. If they don't believe in their business, I don't see why customers should.

ANyone ever tried DVDhype? It sounds like a deal but I'm wondering with the turnaround time in the mail just how many discs you could watch in a month, plus if you couldn't happen to watch them on the day the arrived, it strikes me that "unlimited" may be quite limited. I wonder if there isn't a B&M opportunity along this line, considering Netflix US$20 month, the postage must really eat into that. Maybe a no frills retail location "one price" plan in some incaranation(cahnge your movie x times a month with no return time if you keep the smae one longer?), with the shipping cost paying the rent? Of course you couldn't offer "garanteed in stock", but would price+convenience make up for less selection? I'm surprised no one has tried that. Hmmm It seems a lot to spend near $5 to rent a disc that can be bought for $20-30

I rented a few from DVDHype several months ago. Service worked great. I was very sad when I saw their business up for sale on Ebay. Lost all trust in them at that point.
