I've been going through this for almost 2 years now. I'm told that for reasons unknown I'm early tooo...only 38!!! The hot flashes are killing me. This summer was the hardest I've been hit yet. Everytime I went outside I lost about a litre of sweat. Everywhere I went had to be aid-conditioned. Even last winter I wore shorts around my home, no heat on and still I was dying. I've been seeing a specialist regularly for over 1 year now....but she states that the first few years are the hardest, as the hormone levels are so hard to control. Mine just keep going up and down like an elevator. I'm on estrogen pills and take "the pill" still, cause I need lots of estrogen right now. I've also gained 40 lbs this past year due to this.....some days I just don't wanna get up. The mood swings, well I can do without those too.....some days are really good...but it's when the heat hits.....I wasn't too bad during winter when it's cooler....so I'm hoping for some cool nights right about now.
I go Monday to see another Specialist who's higher knowledge wise than my current one. So, I'm hoping for some relief. In the meantime, my hair is always up - cause it's too hot.....my air conditioning is on....and I drink lots of water. Was told to curb caffeine products...so I'm allowed one Diet Coke per day. Oh and lots of cool baths....hope I didn't scare you too much.....
Was also told to cut-back or eliminate "refined sugar" products. Such as cookies, cakes, donuts, cause the sugar levels cause yor hormone levels to fluctuate.
My sister is 43 and she's already been going through it too. We have no history to trace it back to, as my mom had cancer at 23 and had her entire reproductive system removed....
So I just take everyday at a time......that's the only thing I can advise you to do too....you'll be just fine I'm sure.
